OMS and DMS are both vehicle camera systems, and they differ in what they monitor and their functions.
DMS (Driver Monitoring System)
Monitoring objects: Mainly for drivers.
Function:
Fatigue driving monitoring: Determine whether the driver is tired by analyzing the driver's facial expressions, eye movements and head posture.
Distracted driving monitoring: Detect whether the driver is distracted, such as making phone calls, looking at mobile phones, etc.
Driver status assessment: Assess the driver's concentration level and provide corresponding warnings.
OMS (Occupancy Monitoring System, Occupant Monitoring System)
Monitoring objects: All occupants in the car, including the driver and passengers.
Function:
Passenger seat belt monitoring: Detects whether rear passengers are fastening their seat belts.
Child forgotten reminder: Check whether there is a child left in the rear seat.
Passenger posture monitoring: Detects the sitting posture and position of passengers to provide better protection in the event of a collision.
Foreign object monitoring in the car: Detect whether there are foreign objects or pets in the car
To put it simply, DMS mainly focuses on the status of the driver, while OMS focuses on the safety of all occupants in the car.
