Lens Classification By Interface

Lenses can be classified by interface asfollows: C-mount lenses, CS-mount lenses, single-lens reflex (SLR) lenses, andspecial interface lenses.

C-mount lenses have a flange focal lengthof 17.526mm. The flange focal length is the distance from the mounting flangeto the point where parallel light from the incoming lens converges.

CS-mount lenses have a flange focal lengthof 12.5mm. The flange focal length is the distance from the mounting flange tothe point where parallel light from the incoming lens converges. C-mount lensescan be used on CS-mount lens mounts with the use of an adapter ring, but thereverse is not true.

CCD lens, generally refers to M12 interfaceand Φ14 interface lenses.

Special interface lenses, generally referto lenses with special interfaces, such as integrated lenses.
